Sync3 light  is sometimes referred to as SYNC 2.5 although this is not recognized by Ford. The best way to find out if it is SYNC is to look up the Software version in the settings menu.

What is SYNC and  SYNC 2.5

SYNC 2.5  ( Sync 3 light R5 )can usually be identified by the "Four icons" at the bottom of the touch screen (See image below).  Another way to identify is via accessing the vehicles settings menu.

Look up "About SYNC" under the "Settings Menu" and it should read SYNC (Also pictured below)

This interface can be used to hard wire into the full Sync3 version if needed.
